History

History of PRAP

Parliamentary Reporters Association was established during the life of 13th National Assembly of Pakistan (2008-2013). The PRA represents the parliamentary correspondents in dialogue with the Secretariat regarding any issues they face while performing their duties. In addition to the facilities provided to journalists in the Press Gallery, the Association has an independent office space in the precincts of the Parliament House. This office was inaugurated by the then Speaker, Dr. Fehmida Mirza on September 14, 2012. A dedicated media place for electronic media is on the Gate 1 of the Parliament House for press talks and interviews of the parliamentarians.

The affairs of the PRA are run by periodically elected office bearers among parliamentary correspondents.
